ARRC's Extreme Office Makeover 2008

Summary

The success of the Home-makeover shows and events over the past few years are evident. The scenario is: A family’s home is in bad shape, so a team of professionals provide donated labor, materials, and finances and “makeover” the house. This same concept applies to the Extreme Office Makeover. A company or organization’s technology is in bad shape, so a team of technology professionals with the same type of donated items help to improve that company’s technological and office situation. The goal is to give away a makeover valued at $15-$25,000.

Technology Provider

ARRC Technology is the Local Technology Provider for this event. We are seeking Connected Vendors and Manufacturers to provide:

Servers, Workstations, OS Software and Licensing, Back Office Software, Power Protection Products, Security Software, Infrastructure Products, Firewall Appliances, Laser Printers, Server Monitoring, Managed Services, Phone System, Voice and Data Cabling

• Office space planning and design, as well as furnishings for the executive office and conference room from Indoff
• Landscaping from Gandola Landscaping valued at $1,000
• Xerox multifunction workcentre 4150S from Intelligent Documents valued at $4,000
• Phone system from Cisco valued at $4,000
• 4 hours of consultation in areas of Accounting and Tax’s from Hocking Denton Palmquist valued at $900

In the words of Kyle, LeeAnn and the staff at the Wedding Center, they were “sooooo (yes that’s 5 “o’s”) excited, honored, and humbled” for winning the Extreme Office Makeover. “This is a life-changing event, just like starting a business, buying a house, or having a baby”, LeeAnn said. The Wedding Center is in the business of making dreams reality for couples. So, it is ironic that Extreme Office Makeover offered them the same experience.

The entire team at ARRC demonstrated skill and ability, as well as entertainment value. In LeeAnn’s words, “We were kept away from embarrassing tears of misplaced emotion by hilarious antics that made us laugh until our stomachs hurt”. She was “WOW’d” by smiling installers who volunteered time away from their families on a Saturday morning to make sure their business was up and running by Monday morning.

But, ARRC was not the only team to make this dream a reality. Business partners, such as Gandola’s Landscaping, donated to the Extreme Office Makeover. With their incredible team, they brought instant curb appeal and satisfaction to The Wedding Center’s business store front. Carpet Outlet Plus changed their “retro that had to go” carpet with updated floor coverings that matched all their needs.
